Meet the Advisors
My name is Matthew, and I'm a 4th-year student at the University of Iowa. I am currently working towards degrees in percussion performance and music education. I have spent the last five years serving in the Iowa Air National Guard. I am passionate about VPA because peer support was an integral part of my transition back to Iowa. I hope to provide the same kind of support to incoming students that I was fortunate enough to find throughout my college experience.
Jessica Cupps separated from the Air Force in May 2019 after 4 years of service as a mental health technician. She is currently a senior and pursuing a degree in psychology with a goal of becoming a neuropsychologist. Jessica is also the University of Iowa Veteran’s Association (UIVA) president and a mom to a 2 year old little boy.
I’m in Army ROTC and I’m a psychology pre-occupational therapy major. I’m from Mt. Pleasant, IA and in my free time I love to listen to music and watch The Office.
I'm a Junior in Enterprise Leadership/Pre-Law. After serving 6 years in the Air Force I made a choice to go to school to finish my bachelor’s degree with the intentions of attending law school. I am very active in the veteran community here at the university and am always willing to have a good time!
