MVSS Academic Support

There are several academic support opportunities designed for Veterans at IOWA which the IVETS team can help you get involved with!

Strategies for Veteran Success (CSI: 1270:0001)

This course is designed to help student veterans and service members in their academic transition from active duty military or guard/reserve status to the University of Iowa, to promote academic success and improve retention of student veterans, and to assist in cultivating a systematic approach to career planning and decision-making. The primary focuses are on the resources available to students, identification of goals and strengths, and problem-solving related to personal issues or barriers that could impede student veteran transitions and academic performance.

In the spring 2020 semester this course runs from 1:30-3:20 on Wednesdays. The course is 2 credit hours and graded as Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory.
